Course overview
This project-based course is designed for developers who already have basic knowledge of PHP, MySQL and PDO and want to reach the next level by building real applications. Instead of only theory, you will create a series of practical projects that mirror the features of real-world websites.
You'll start by setting up your development environment and creating a URL shortener. From there, you'll learn how to send e-mails from PHP, then move into a complete authentication module with login, registration, password hashing and validation. The course then expands into a post & comment system, adding an Ajax-powered rating feature, and finishes with a live search component and a small weather application that consumes an API.
By the end of the course, you will be comfortable architecting and coding small to medium-sized PHP & MySQL projects, and you'll have several portfolio pieces to show to clients or employers.
